Pushing Past Autism 2009

WELCOME BACK!  Pushing Past Autism 2009 is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, 2009.  This is our second annual event to benefit the Autism Society of Connecticut (ASCONN) and the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism (DFJF).  It will once again be held at the O’Neil Center at Western Connecticut State University.

Pushing Past Autism is a one-day charity event in which participants do as many (or as few) pushups as they choose during a four hour period to raise money for ASCONN and DFJF.  For those choosing to compete, prizes are awarded for the most pushups (see below for details).  Money is raised through donations, registration fees, business sponsorship, raffle tickets for donated prizes, and sales of T shirts and other items.  Spectators are welcome to attend and may participate in the raffles and purchase T shirts and other items.

Robert Mueller told a congressional committee that the expected wave of fraud cases will put further strain on resources already stretched by the bureau’s ongoing pursuit of mortgage fraud, terrorism and public corruption.

Single-Payer National Health Insurance

National Health Insurance
Single-payer national health insurance is a system in which a single public or quasi-public agency organizes health financing, but delivery of care remains largely private.

Currently, the U.S. health care system is outrageously expensive, yet inadequate. Despite spending more than twice as much as the rest of the industrialized nations ($7,129 per capita), the United States performs poorly in comparison on major health indicators such as life expectancy, infant mortality and immunization rates. Moreover, the other advanced nations provide comprehensive coverage to their entire populations, while the U.S. leaves 47 million completely uninsured and millions more inadequately covered.

Ottawa, 18 Mar. Canada is taking aggressive action to revive its troubled economy. The Minister of Finance, The Honourable Jim Flaherty, recently expressed his support for Bill C-10. This new piece of legislation will give the economy much-needed immediate economic stimulus.

“Through Canada’s Economic Action Plan our Government is providing the responsible leadership required during these challenging economic times by giving Canadians the necessary tools do deal with the global economic crisis,” said Flaherty. “Bill C-10 enables the Government to provide the potent economic stimulus needed to encourage growth and restore confidence in our economy.”

Important and not so Important factors to consider about Trade Shows

What will my competitors say?

Just recently I read an article within a trade publication regarding the recent trend of trade show exhibitors and their plight as to whether to exhibit in a noticeably slower economy. The publication which will remain anonymous hinted at the ominous and undesirable outcome that may unravel should a supplier decide not to exhibit. The articles main focus was the conversation that would occur between your buyer or potential buyers and your competition.
